I am Dr. Eshmeet, a Medical physician turned Health coach
Back in the days, what initially drew me close to the field of medicine was a childhood intrigue of the wonders of biological sciences, but more so, the diseases and the cure involved. With a level of empathy, compassion, dedication required to be a good medical professional, a career in healthcare became a conscious choice.
In later years, medical college taught me that we as doctors , in spite of our best efforts to use our profound knowledge, skills, the most advanced treatment protocols aided with latest technologies , yet most of our patients always came back wanting something “more” from us. They felt helpless and incomplete. They wanted us to address their thoughts, their feelings, their emotions and not just their physical body.
The Dilemma
While the official definition of curing means “eliminating all evidence of the disease”, healing implies “Becoming whole”. It left me begging for an answer “do we actually heal our patients or do we just find them a cure?!”
I was disillusioned with the healthcare system. I was a part of a traditional medical system that felt limited and it did not give me the professional fulfillment I was out to seek for. I experienced a profound sense of being lost and stuck within a paradigm that didn’t align with my deeper understanding of healing.
The Switch
I pushed myself into understanding the true essence of ‘health & healing’. While still practicing conventional medicine, instead of focusing on what was wrong with my patients physically I started seeing them as a whole being with a mind, body and spirit. I strongly believe that the whole person is made up of interdependent parts and if one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be affected. In this way, if people have imbalances (physical, emotional, or spiritual) in their lives, it can negatively affect their overall health. I started empowering my patients with this knowledge and this along with my support & skills helped them build sustainable, long-lasting and positive lifestyle changes that improved their health overall.

I found my sense of purpose in the field of healthcare. Today I am a certified Heath Coach having mentored many women and teenage girls to motivate, educate, guide, and support them in making healthy lifestyle changes with the ultimate purpose of working towards their individual wellness goals.
